Thai Dragon Tea Party

I first tried Thai Tea when dating Brian, Braelyn's Daddy. It was like nothing I had ever tasted. Thai Tea is ginger-sweet, tongue-staining carrot orange, and insanely addictive. When Brian passed Jocelyn (Brian's widow and Braelyn's step-mom) and I wanted a way to honor him in a way that Brae could carry on for the rest of her life,no matter what stage. So, on October 25th, his birthday, and Decmeber 18th, the anniversary of his death, Braelyn and I head to Thai Chili to celebrate him with a glass of Thai Tea. This year, we took Luke as he is learning that Brae's Daddy Brian is in Heaven with Jesus. This is still quite confusing for a 3 year old, but he is starting to understand.

Because there were 3 of us, we sat at a table for 4. The 4th chair was lonesome. Luke kept saying, " We have to wait for Brian."

Brae was so big to explain to her brother, that her daddy was there, because he is in our hearts. We just couldn't see him. It was good to listen to her.It gave me piece of mind to know that she learning to accept her loss a little more.

To Brian!

"Brian is missing his birffday."

And for Dessert....
FRIED ICECREAM!
Together, the kids and I sang Happy Birthday
and each had a bite of the flaming treat.

Brian was always a Joke-ster. In Brae's room she has a picture of her daddy doing this pose in front of a similar picture at Bangkok City. WE thought we would do the same as a new annual tradition. We miss him, but I know in God's time it is but a few minutes before Braelyn will be re-united with her daddy. God promised! He keeps his promises.
